The Best Padel Courts in Asuncion
In Asunción, padel has turned into more than just a weekend hobby—it’s become a huge part of city life. You’ll find some of the best padel courts in Asunción filled with locals almost every day of the week.
The sport really exploded after 2020, when the pandemic made everyone rethink how they were spending their time—and suddenly, padel became the perfect answer: outdoors, social, and easy to pick up.
Before COVID, padel tennis existed here in Paraguay, but it wasn’t nearly as mainstream. After the lockdowns, people were itching for ways to stay active without being crammed into a gym or stuck at home.
Padel offered just that. It’s easier to learn than tennis, the courts are smaller, and it’s a great way to socialize. It felt like overnight that padel courts started popping up around the city—and now, many of the best neighborhoods to live in Asunción have at least one court within walking distance.
Even if you’re just visiting Asunción, you’ll probably hear locals mention padel within your first few days. And if you’re living here long-term, it’s a fun way to get active, meet new people, and feel part of the community. Padel courts have become just as common as parks like Ñu Guazú or trendy cafes like El Café de Acá.
Whether you’re a total beginner or have played a few times before, the best padel courts in Asunción are open, affordable, and welcoming. It’s just one more thing that makes life here a little more fun.
Let’s dive into my personal top courts in Asuncion. Keep in mind that there are hundreds of padel courts throughout the city, but these are top favorites near the Villa Morra area.

Residential atmosphere
• Highlights: If you’re looking for something off the beaten path, this place is usually quiet and not usually full. It’s a good option for casual players in the area, as this court is very new and in a nicer shopping/grocery plaza, but it is a bit further away in Luque.

9. Roma Padel
- • Location: Roma Padel
• Neighborhood: Villa Aurelia
• Facilities:
2 indoor courts
Older turf
Dim indoor lighting
Basic seating area
No major facilities
• Highlights: Not my personal favorite — it’s a bit dark and older inside. The courts work if you need something indoors or everything else is full, but there are better-maintained spots in this list.
These courts above are some of the best padel courts in Asuncion, and are all well located near the Villa Morra, Recoleta, and Villa Aurelia neighborhoods in Asuncion. While these are some of the top options and my personal favourites, it’s worth noting that padel courts are common throughout the entire city of Asunción, often found every few blocks.
However, not all are maintained to the same standard. Based on my own personal experience, Laguna Padel and Smash Padel are the best options for good upkeep and facilities.

Padel Court Prices in Asunción
Padel is popular in Paraguay, but the good news is that it’s still affordable to play here.
Prices for padel courts in Asunción usually range between GS 80,000 to GS 100,000 per hour. Some higher-end spots may charge around GS 120,000, especially for night-time bookings or premium surfaces.
Occasionally, you’ll come across a deal for around GS 50,000 per hour, but that’s pretty rare — and it usually means limited facilities or worn-out courts.
For most courts, you can book via WhatsApp or online, and many have social media pages (especially Instagram) where you can see photos before booking.
I also recommend checking out the app Reva, which is widely used in Paraguay for booking courts.

Is Padel Worth It in Paraguay?
If you’re moving to Paraguay or just visiting long-term, the short answer is: yes, padel is definitely worth it here – and almost everyone plays.
Padel isn’t just a sport in Paraguay — it’s a lifestyle.
You’ll find hundreds of padel courts across the capital alone. In neighborhoods like Villa Morra, Recoleta, and Villa Aurelia, there’s practically a padel court on every other block. Some are part of fitness clubs, some are standalone facilities, and some are tucked behind homes or next to cafes.
And it’s not just an Asunción thing — cities like Luque, San Lorenzo, and Fernando de la Mora also have plenty of padel courts that locals frequent after work or on weekends.
The sport exploded after 2020, and it hasn’t slowed down. While football and tennis are still big here, padel is easily the most visible and fastest-growing sport among adults.

What I love is that it’s incredibly social. Most people come in groups of four, play a few sets, and then grab beers or tereré together afterward. Many clubs even have small bars or lounges built in for this exact reason.
Whether you’re a beginner or have years of experience, there’s a place for you on the court. Some clubs offer coaching or social nights, which are a great way to meet locals and expats alike. It’s also one of the easiest ways to stay active and make friends in Paraguay.

FAQ on the best padel courts in Asuncion
Not necessarily. Most courts rent racquets and balls for a small fee, usually around GS 10,000–GS 15,000. But if you plan to play regularly, it’s worth buying your own racquet. You can find decent ones at Sporting goods stores like Stock or Biggie or even online via Marketplace Paraguay.
Definitely book in advance, especially if you want to play in the evening. Most padel courts in Asunción have WhatsApp booking, and some like Smash Padel or Padel Haus also post availability on Instagram. Weekend slots go fast, so don’t leave it to chance. Don’t forget to download Reva to book courts online.
The Villa Morra, Recoleta, and Villa Aurelia areas have some of the most well-maintained and accessible padel courts. These are central neighborhoods with easy access to cafes, restaurants, and nightlife. If you’re looking for where to live nearby, check out my guide to the best neighborhoods in Asunción.
Absolutely, beginners are welcome. Many courts have social nights or allow beginners to rent time without any pressure. Plus, padel is easier to pick up than tennis, which makes it great for expats who want to get moving and meet people. A few courts also offer lessons and coaching, usually posted on their social media.
Comfortable athletic clothes and running shoes. Most courts are outdoors, so you’ll still want to dress for heat and humidity – trust me, it gets hot in the summer in Paraguay! If you’re visiting during the hot season, this Paraguay packing list will help you prepare.
Most courts are casual and welcoming to spectators. Some have small bars or cafes, like Laguna Padel, where you can grab a drink and watch matches. It’s actually a fun way to meet locals and get a feel for the sport before jumping in.
Evenings are most popular — and also the coolest. Most courts have lights for night play, and people tend to book between 6–10pm after work. Mornings are quieter and easier to book if you’re flexible during the day. I find most of the Paraguayan locals prefer to play when the sun goes down.
Most padel courts in Asunción accept cash, local bank transfer, or even mobile payment platforms like Tigo Money. Some places take cards, but always ask ahead just in case. If you’re new to the banking system here, my guide on how banking in Paraguay works breaks it down.
